The Impact of Global oil crisis and Covid-19 lock down has started taken its toll. Major Oil and Gas service provider companies in Pakistan has started working on reducing cost using different strategies which ultimately hits the workforce in general either in the form of dilution of takeaway salaries or loss of employment as the service sectors under pressure has been working on low margins since the 2015 recession.
Though Government of Pakistan has float order that “ companies cannot lay off their employees during the Covid-19 lockdown , infact they have to pay their employees during this period” is still not going to solve potential raise in unemployment in the Oil&Gas Industry in near future.
Based on above what can be done especially the E&P companies since their activities directly impacts the bread and butter of the people working in the service sector?
