China can help in resolving the energy issues being faced by Pakistan and can provide muchdesired relief to the industrial, commercial and domestic sectors of the country, remarked Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) President SM Naveed. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Offline/ Online Pakistan China Industrial Expo 2020 on Friday, Naveed appreciated the Chinese businessmen working in Pakistan for putting up a remarkable show where companies of both countries showcased their potential on a wider scale. More than 1,000 participants from both countries attended the exhibition on both offline and online platforms.
Naveed voiced hope that the exhibition, as a regular annual feature, would keep Pakistan’s industry abreast of international developments and trends. “Moreover, the exhibition will lead the way in delivering the most exquisite opportunities to all participants in different sectors like CNC machinery, construction machinery, new energy and building material, agricultural machinery, plastic machinery, hardware, chemicals and auto parts,”
Naveed said. He added that the event was launched in an innovative offline and online model, holding all business-to-business meetings online via terminal equipment installed at every booth. Earlier, PCJCCI Senior Vice President Daud Ahmed said the business community was ready to work with the government for economic prosperity of the country. He noted that Lahore had emerged as a focal point for investment by foreign investors, especially the Chinese companies entering into joint ventures under the CPEC framework. PCJCCI Vice President Khalid Rafique Choudhry stressed that time had come when the Punjab government could play a leading role in economic development of the country by enhancing facilitation.
