Islamabad (Khalid Mustafa) Sui gas companies have decided to import 20 thousand metric tons of LPG per month to meet the energy shortage in winter. The price of which will be 780 dollars per metric ton. And it will not include general sales tax. However, if the Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL) LPG extraction plant is made operational, it can produce 9,000 metric tonnes of natural gas at a price of $582.
If Sui Southern Gas Company’s 57:43 sharing ratio is taken into account, Sui Southern would have received $572 per metric ton of gas under the previous arrangement.
A senior official who oversees LPG issues questioned that the Sui Southern Gas Company wanted to order gas at $200 per metric ton because it would have to pay an additional $4 million per month.
The official said that by making Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited operational, the government could save $200 per metric ton.
