The delegation was headed by Mr. Jake Levine, chief climate officer. Mr. Naz El-Khatib, deputy cheif of staff policy was also in company. DFC has an investment portfolio of 450 million dollars in Pakistan. Considerable portion of the investment being in renewables.
Minister for power apprised the delegation about the solar projects of the present government. The future policy outlook is based on the plans that all new electricity generation will be based on indigenous resources, remarked the minister. The policy aims to reduce the import of fuel and conservation of energy.
The delegation appreciated the solar policy and declared it a win-win for climate considerations and soaring energy prices. The DFC will continue its engagement with Pakistan on remewable energy.

وزیر بجلی نے وفد کو موجودہ حکومت کے سولر پراجیکٹس سے آگاہ کیا۔ وزیر نے ریمارکس دیئے کہ مستقبل کی توانائی پالیسی کا ان منصوبوں پر مبنی ہو گی جن میں تمام نئی بجلی کی پیداوار مقامی وسائل سے کی جائے۔ پالیسی کا مقصد ایندھن کی درآمد کو کم کرنا اور توانائی کے استعمال میں کفایت شعاری اپنانا ہے۔
وفد نے شمسی پالیسی کو سراہا اور اسے موسمیاتی تحفظات اور توانائی کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں کے لیے ایک بہترین حکمت عملی قرار دیا۔ ڈی ایف سی قابل تجدید توانائی پر پاکستان کے ساتھ اپنے منصوبے جاری رکھے گا۔
