STDC to Sign Agreements with Companies for Transmission of 600 MW Power from Private Sector

Karachi: Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired a meeting of the Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company (STDC) board at the Energy Department’s committee room. The meeting ratified the decisions of the previous session and introduced several new significant resolutions.

During the meeting, it was decided that an MoU would be approved with Go Energy Private Limited, which aims to establish a 500 MW floating solar power project at Keenjhar Lake. This project intends to connect with the K-Electric grid at Dhabeji Grid Station via STDC’s transmission line.

Furthermore, the board approved MoUs with Gul Ahmed Group Power Company Private Limited and Gul Ahmed Renewable Energy Private Limited. These companies plan to generate 50 MW each and supply the electricity to Gul Ahmed Textile Mills through STDC’s transmission lines.

Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, serving as Chairman, endorsed the MoU between STDC and the Gul Ahmed Group. The meeting also reviewed STDC’s performance in detail. The minister emphasized enhancing the company’s performance and stated that the Sindh government has established SEPRRA to ensure the provision of affordable electricity to the public, in comparison to NEPRA. All measures should be carried out through SEPRRA as much as possible.

Minister Nasir Hussain Shah added that officers and employees demonstrating good performance would be rewarded, as hardworking and capable employees are invaluable assets to any organization.
