LAHORE: The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has successfully enhanced the power transmission capacity at the 500 kV Grid Station Sheikhupura by installing a new 250 MVA autotransformer.

The augmentation involved replacing the existing 160 MVA, 220/132 kV autotransformer (T-8) with the more powerful 250 MVA, 220/132 kV autotransformer. The Project Delivery (North) Lahore team completed the installation and energized the transformer ahead of the scheduled shutdown period, finishing three days earlier by deploying additional resources.

This upgrade will significantly increase the loading capacity of the Sheikhupura grid station, providing much-needed relief to areas served by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). The enhanced capacity will ensure a more reliable power supply to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers in the region.
