KPT&GC to Begin Power Transmission to Industries, Boosting KP’s Energy Sector

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transmission and Grid Company (KPT&GC) is set to make history by transmitting affordable electricity to industries, generated from completed projects of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO). This marks a significant step in the province’s energy development.

Speaking during a meeting with AHI Corporation’s delegation, led by Hasan Zahiddin, Secretary Energy and Power, Nisar Ahmad Khan, emphasized the importance of the energy sector in stabilizing the economy. He highlighted that private sector investment and efficient utilization of energy resources can further bolster economic growth.

The meeting, attended by key officials, outlined plans for three major transmission projects. Advisor Power Tala Muhammad shared that a 40-kilometer transmission line from Kalam to Madiyan will be completed in 18 months at a cost of PKR 8 billion. A second 80-kilometer line from Madiyan to Chakdara, costing an estimated PKR 16-18 billion, will take 48 months.

Additionally, a modern system capable of transmitting 3,500 megawatts of electricity, integrating completed 171 MW projects and ongoing 100 MW projects, will be launched.

Secretary Nisar Ahmad Khan lauded private investment in these projects, calling it a positive step towards the province’s prosperity and energy stability.
