LAHORE: United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, emphasized the immense potential for collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE in the renewable energy sector.
During a meeting with Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at the Governor House, the two leaders discussed avenues for enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in economic and energy sectors.
Ambassador Al Zaabi highlighted the UAE embassy’s efforts to address visa-related challenges, an issue also raised by Governor Haider, who expressed concern over the difficulties faced by Pakistani citizens, especially students, in obtaining UAE visas.
Governor Haider reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening relations with the UAE and appreciated the UAE’s contributions to health, education, and other sectors in Pakistan. He underscored the government’s focus on economic uplift through initiatives like the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and invited UAE businesses to invest in various sectors.
“Pakistanis regard the UAE as their second home due to shared religious and cultural values,” the governor stated, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two nations.
In a separate note, Governor Haider expressed heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of 10 lives in a bus accident near the Attock Fateh Jang Interchange. He prayed for the deceased, extended sympathies to the bereaved families, and directed the local administration to provide top-tier medical care to the injured.
The meeting concluded with mutual resolve to elevate Pakistan-UAE relations to new heights, especially in the renewable energy and economic domains.
