Pakistan’s First-Ever ‘Made in Pakistan’ Expo Opens in Jeddah

ISLAMABAD: Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday inaugurated the first-ever ‘Made in Pakistan’ exhibition in Jeddah, marking a milestone in Pakistan-Saudi trade relations.

Addressing an audience of Saudi officials, business leaders, and diplomats, the minister emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties and showcasing Pakistan’s diverse industrial capabilities.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, the exhibition features Pakistan’s top-quality products and services, including textiles, sports goods, light engineering, food, and construction materials. Minister Khan expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its support in organizing the event, calling it a testament to the deep-rooted strategic partnership between the two nations.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to expanding trade and investment with Saudi Arabia, he highlighted key sectors for collaboration, such as food security, energy, mining, and human resource development. He underscored Pakistan’s evolving industrial base and the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in prioritizing Saudi investments.

Minister Khan praised the contributions of the 2.7 million-strong Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia, noting that over 1.7 million workers have migrated there in the past five years, making it the top destination for Pakistani emigrants. He called for joint efforts in skill development to enhance employment opportunities.

Showcasing Pakistan’s renowned football manufacturing industry, he congratulated Saudi Arabia on securing the 2034 FIFA World Cup and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supplying world-class footballs for the event.

Highlighting opportunities for deeper business collaborations, he urged Pakistani and Saudi companies to explore joint ventures targeting markets in Africa, Central Asia, and the Far East.
