Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has sought advice from the Petroleum Division (PDS) regarding the allocation of gas for its Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant project.
The PPL is planning to set up a 1,200-megawatt (MW) CCGT power plant, which will require a significant amount of gas to operate. However, the company is seeking clarification on the gas allocation process and the availability of gas for the project.
The PDS has been requested to provide guidance on the gas allocation framework, including the priority of gas allocation, the gas supply agreement, and the gas pricing mechanism.
The PPL’s CCGT power plant project is expected to play a significant role in meeting the country’s growing power demands and reducing reliance on imported fuels. However, the project’s viability depends on the availability of gas, which is a critical input for the power plant.
The PDS’s advice on gas allocation will be crucial in determining the project’s feasibility and ensuring that it is completed on time.
