ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2025 is set to open on Tuesday, April 8, at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, marking a major step toward positioning Pakistan as a global hub for metals and minerals exploration. The two-day event aims to forge strategic partnerships between government entities, global investors, and industry leaders to unlock the country’s vast mineral potential.

Organized by the Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the forum will spotlight Pakistan’s ongoing transformation in the mineral sector. It will focus on attracting international investment, promoting sustainable development, and integrating the country into the global supply chain for critical minerals.

A major highlight of the event will be the official launch of the National Minerals Harmonisation Framework 2025, designed to streamline regulations and attract foreign investment into the mining sector.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to deliver a keynote policy address at the opening session. Other prominent speakers include Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Energy Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan.

Representing the United States, Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, will attend the forum to advance US interests in the region’s mineral sector.

The conference will feature panel discussions, investment showcases, and expert-led debates on policy reforms and sectoral opportunities. One of the key sessions will focus on Pakistan’s new National Minerals Policy, which introduces a transparent and standardized framework aimed at enhancing investor confidence and fostering long-term growth.

A special panel will also provide an in-depth update on the Reko Diq project, outlining recent milestones and the roadmap toward its full-scale development.

The forum will bring together policymakers, C-level executives, and industry stakeholders from around the world to chart a new course for Pakistan’s minerals economy.
