In its mission to create a sustainable community, leading food company, Shan Foods, recently conducted a tree plantation activity in collaboration with ChildLife Foundation, a non-profit organization working for affordable healthcare for children in Pakistan.
The drive was carried out under Shan Foods’ brand-new CSR identity, Shan Shares, which is committed to playing its part for an economically, environmentally, and socially sustained world in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Being a leading global brand, Shan Foods has always upheld a purpose-driven nature, striving to give back to the community it works in.
Expressing her views on this initiative, Sammer Sultan, Co-chairperson Shan Foods, said, “Every tree we have planted today in collaboration with ChildLife Foundation will leave a lasting legacy for our generations to come. This is exactly what Shan Shares, our corporate identity, stands for – achieving a better future for the world today and for our next generations. With this mission, each member of our Shan Foods’ family pledges to share their responsibility for Pakistan and work together to build a sustainable future for everyone.”
Dr. Ahson Rabbani, CEO ChildLife Foundation, also shared similar views and said, “Our children are our most valuable asset, but in order for them to take our nation upwards, it is our responsibility to invest in their wellness and wellbeing. By planting these trees, we are not only taking a step towards a greener Pakistan but we are also planting hope for the wellbeing and better future of our children.”
Guided by Shan Shares’ ideology, one which is based on the sentiments of sharing and caring for others, Shan Foods aims to reduce poverty, encourage sustainability, stimulate environment-friendly practices, promote health and nutrition for all, and uplift the underprivileged for the growth and prosperity of society.
