ISLAMABAD: Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Shi Yuanqiang, emphasized that mutually beneficial projects across various sectors will further solidify the China-Pakistan strategic partnership.
Speaking at a Chinese New Year celebration event, he noted that high-quality cooperation has strengthened bilateral relations, providing a strong foundation for their continued development. He highlighted the frequent high-level exchanges in 2024, including successful visits by the Prime Ministers of both countries, and the deepening of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into an “upgraded version.”
Shi Yuanqiang commended the contributions of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, acknowledging their role in fostering bilateral cooperation and advancing shared development goals. He also referenced the recent state visit of Pakistan’s President to China from February 4-8, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. The visit, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Xi’s historic 2015 trip to Pakistan and the Chinese Spring Festival, was described as a milestone in strengthening all-weather strategic cooperation.
Looking ahead, he reaffirmed China’s commitment to modernization, high-quality development, and openness under the 14th Five-Year Plan, promising an even brighter future for China-Pakistan ties. He urged Chinese expatriates in Pakistan to continue serving as bridges of friendship, narrators of China’s progress, and contributors to bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, and culture.
Celebrating the Chinese New Year, Shi Yuanqiang extended greetings to the overseas Chinese community, Chinese enterprises, and students in Pakistan, wishing them prosperity, good health, and success in the Year of the Snake.
