ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has emphasized that solar energy is the most viable solution to Pakistan’s worsening electricity crisis.

Speaking at the “Knox Mega Minds-2025” event as the chief guest, Kundi highlighted the country’s accelerated shift toward solar power. He praised Knox Solar for its contributions to renewable energy and commended its management for successfully organizing the event.

Kundi noted that Pakistan’s energy crisis has placed a heavy financial burden on ordinary citizens, with soaring electricity prices forcing many to turn to power theft. He stressed that solar energy provides an affordable and sustainable alternative, particularly in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has favorable conditions for solar generation compared to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The Governor also underscored Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rich natural resources, including oil, gas, and minerals, making it a key player in the country’s energy sector.

Welcoming a visiting Chinese delegation, Kundi acknowledged China’s ongoing investments in Pakistan’s renewable energy industry and expressed optimism about future collaboration to drive economic growth and stability.
